Dry January

had my last drink of Alcohol on NYE and I've managed to be teetotal for the whole of January. Now the wife's pissed off out to Wigan with her mates and I'm bored shitless. Can I crack open that bottle of single malt I got as a Christmas present or will I have failed ? Help !!

If it's something good go for it, if it's commercial dross like Glenfiddich or Glenlivet don't bother.

 

Bugger! I bought my nephew Glenfiddich for his 21st - I thought it was meant to be decent stuff.

 

Glenfiddich's fine, it's a perfectly good whisky, it's just not a very special single malt.

I bought the Glenfiddich 12 year old over Johnnies Walker Black Labbel - haven't got a clue which is better as I don't drink whisky.

 

Glenfiddich is better for the purist, it's a single malt, Johnny Walker is a blend so can vary a lot with batches.

 

Fuck it I've waited this long I'm not giving in! On standby tomorrow so need a clear head

 

I failed. Broke by the 3rd January.

 

Is that a cask strength one? A tiny drop of water with that I reckon.

On the whiskey front ...I believe Bells with Aldi diet lemonade and a twist of lime is the best way to enjoy it ....
