Would bead blasting make my downpipes shiny again? Or does it just remove surface crap. Was thinking of doing this or just spraying black with heat paint.
A bit more info would be helpful.... What is the finish on the downpipes now?, ie are they chrome, Stainless or mild steel?. And are they rusty, pitted or just discoloured (blue/black etc)?.
I've been looking at those drill polishing heads you can get. Might give one of them a go or paint them as you say. They did have black tie wrap on them and looked ok then so spraying black should be fine.
It really didn't require it! lol. Thoroughly recommend a polishing kit. Very very useful. This is what I have - http://www.metalpolishingsupplies.co.uk/aluminium-polishing-kit-8pc/ - Go for the 4" x 1" mop sizes. Coupled with a £15 drill from Aldi. Not sure if you'll have to register or not, but here is a decent guide to polishing metal - http://www.banditforum.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=22217.0 But just for cleaning up the downpipes, the brown compound and the firm cloth mop is all you need. If you just want a one off clean, or a bit of a show-how you're more than welcome to bring them round to mine anytime.
Cheers Dan I might just do that don't think I'm far from you. I suppose I could do with getting a set too though I'd I want them to stay like that lol. Thanks for the link too I'm sure I saw the same ones for £15 on ebay! So that's even better.
just been told about this stuff too never heard of it but comes recommended http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/OPTIGLANZ...13?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item3a966e5bbd
Wouldn't have thought it would be good for road dirt on exhausts. Anything that can come out of a spray wont be abrasive, and anything non-abrasive wont removed baked on road dirt/grime.
