Disco lights for New Year's Eve party recommendations

As the title suggests, is anyone able to recommend disco lights for a New Year's Eve party at home?

My son will be 10 and we'll be combining his birthday with a New Year's Eve party for close family and friends.

The lights need to be effective in a room measuring approximately 6 m x 6 m (therefore the £10 lights from Argos aren't going to cut the mustard).

Or you can always hire lighting

 

I was looking at Maplin earlier in work today, but wouldn't be able to distinguish between a good or mediocre light.
Have you used any of those?

I used to have these years ago and they flash to the beat of the music which is quite good. Id say something like that, a strobe light, smoke machine and maybe of the lighting effect machines. That should be plenty for a small party
