Well I've finally gone and bought myself a bike, so I can get rid of that bloody awful scooter.

It's a Honda Varadero 125, and is in Alright condition (Bar the bad spray job) there's a bit of corrosion on the engine cylinder cooling fins.

What's the best way to clean this ? In the past i've used a brass wire brush, but there's not much room to work with, and I don't want to damage anything !

DITTO ...if GT85 is not strong enough try gunk or something similar .. a good scrub into the fins with a tooth brush then wash off with water ...jobs a good un

Diesel, just use diesel it works out cheaper than the other stuff and does a better job cleaning gunk from engines.

Apply with a brush, soak, and repeat, brush off, then rinse with carb/brake cleaner.

I must admit I use diesel to flush engine on oil change

That's a fookin big no no Smudge.
You can't get all the diesel out it will get trapped in the engine somewhere.
When diesel mixes with oil it will create sludge the sludge will block the oil ways not to mention the filter, then there's the clutch. The sludge will not come out when you drain the oil.
    Please don't do it again.

This sort of thing is only my job, what would I know.
PS the shit that comes out is what you've created by flushing with diesel.

Correct me if I'm wrong but diesel is a by product of oil so why will it damage your engine if left to drain then flush diesel out with a 5 litre Wilkinson £2.99 5w/20 then add your castrol oil??
