Could anybody offer me any advise on removing a rounded allen key bolt so i can fit my bungs before my track day at the begining of feb. Cheers folks.

    Role on better weather.

mate if you got a zx6 they are a nightmare...they are sooooo tight and if you've rounded the fitting you'll never get it out.
i had the same problem with Cats bike.
Orrell motorcycle centre will fit them for about £20 (cause you have to drill a hole in the fairing as well...well on the 06 model you had to) so its worth taking it to them

i've used a dremel to put a groove like a flat head screw then used a big flat head screw driver to get it out. if all else fails then drilling the head off the bolt and then putting a pilot hole down the remaining thread and using an easi out which is like a core bit with a left hand thread.

If you're gonna use an 'easy out' be very careful. Although they are tough, they are very brittle and it's not uncommon for them to break. If this does happen, you'll be in a harder position to remove it.

I have had good results removing allan heads by driving a star bit into the allan head, apply some easit to the tread if you can and allow to soak in,applying localised heat will do the job too dont use this method near plastics or wiring

i know mate, i might be wrong but i think the collar has to be loosened first...which is why it was better for me to take it in.

let us know how you get on

it shouldn't be too hard to get out. give it a good soak with wd40, or you can get freeze spray from halfords . knock in a star bit and use an impact driver. or dremel flats on the side and use a spanner.

lol, tell me about it. you have to make sure you've got it properly straight, or they'll snap.  then you need to buy some carbide drill bits to get it out.

Dint bother doing them myself. I didnt want to make a bad situation any worse. So whilst my bike was in for its service at orrell motorcycle centre they sorted it for nowt. Quality blokes.

Thanks for the suggestions though i just shit out if i am being honest.
