did you not use the shim i gave you? mybad the shim lifts the back end up about an inch on blackbirds and vtr 1000s it helps the bikes turn in quicker they only cost a few quid and they go on top of the back shock its just a case of slackening the nut and sliding it between top of shock and frame £20 rad you've been had!!

a lot of it ... tyres were fitted free because of the other work they were doing . the callipers were the biggest job .

i am thinking that the guy who does the paper work , who isn't the guy who does the actual work just tagged it on at the end , but given the chain was not fitted by them but they just tightened the rivet joint I am thinking that brake fluid/ clutch fluid, bleeding the systems and fitting the new alternator gasket has all been lumped in together.

It's been costly, but it needed to be done!
With all that work done, it'll feel like a new bike and smiles wise, it'll be worth every penny!

Thats a days work that could be done on the street, in fact i have done that on the street in a day.
You would have saved your self a fair amount by getting your hands dirty.

GETTING MY HANDS DIRTY HAS NEVER BEEN A PROBLEM, Having the knowledge of how to get bearings out and re fit them, can be got from a manual I suppose but bending at the moments sends electric shock type burning spasmodic pain shooting down my left leg. so doing anything like that is not an option. However when I am fixed I will gladly get stuck in if someone can show me what to do/ how to do it . The chain Smudger did for me in the ex's garage after Rich 365 quit the job half done two days previously. The chain cost £130 from Hunts because I thought we could get the bike fixed in a day,not realising all the other bits wanted seeing to. I could have got one cheaper with sprockets off ebay, the sprockets were replaced last August . Having got the rear wheel out it was worth getting the tyre on while it was off and doing the bearings at the same time. Smudger did the rear pad swap for me , and thats how we found the calliper was goosed. The bike still felt wrong while I was riding it to the garage so I asked them to give it a thorough check over.
The front tyre didn't get done till today . The bearing kit was £35 quid I think .
now I know a proper bike mechanic has stripped the bits that were faulty done a full rebuild, greased what needed it , fitted new slider pins on all the callipers and by rights the bike ought to be sound when it comes home.

Just need a really good paint job doing on it now ,,,,,,,and a new top fairing ....... new screen and eventually swap the cans for something lighter and louder ,,,, and a loud horn !

I hope you have invested in some new discs since I saw you last, if not you'll be buying some more pads very soon.
