having issues with my ECU at the moment due to Green Flag crushing it.

As i don't like modern injection i was wondering how difficult it would be to convert to carbs? Maybe use some over sized ones from a 1200 like a bandit or GSX etc.

i know it'd cost a bit but £850 for a new ECU also isn't cheap by any means (just hoping Green Flag pay up asap)

a lot will depend on the bike/electronic side.

figured that, it basically has the same electrical system as a Triumph 955i, so i figured as triumph do carb conversions i could probably do it to mine. I had my old fiesta running R! carbs and that was an ECU car with injectors etc to begin with, think the conversion cost me £650

Green flag. What have they said?

What kind of insurance do you have is it fully comprehensive? You could claim on that cause the bike has been damaged in a non fault accident. They should chase it for you the.

Or give green flag 14 days to pay up or take them to court! - ill help I've sued everyone!

It's a Benelli Tornado TRE RS.

It had broken down due to a a relay that vibrated out and was sat in the rear fairing- out of reach of anyone (fuel pump relay)

Green flag sent Mansfield who came out with a massive flatbed expecting a Bently motor car.
Told him don't strap the seat as the ECU is u see it but his straps count go elsewhere and they would t make me wait in the cold any longer (had already been 6 hours as the first one to turn up was also looking for a car)

The strapping put undue stress on the side stand, main seat, ECU and fairing.

(Bike was parallel to the bulk head)

I put the relay back in the next day and the fuel pump wouldn't primes I
It was taken out and bench tested-

    All fine.

Had a motorcycle mechanic come out (£30 down) Who said the ECU has been crushed and the wiring into it broken :,(

    Took to KJM and here is the breakdown of repair;

    364.80 - Wiring Loom
    1320.00 - ECU
    534.00 -plastics
    400.00 - fitting/labour

    2618.80 total

Dunno why this just popped into my head but does this mean you cant ever take one of these on a ferry?
They usually just strap over the seat too.

Probably will be at that price, I refuse to let
my insurance deal with it and lose my NCB over some lass telling the recovery agency it was a car. Natwest have it as a Benelli so there was a case to fight they said.

And in reply to Lee's thought- probably not although I'm sure Cotty has been all over Europe on his. I'd take them bar straps if I ever did as that's what most motorcycle recovery agents use and never had any issues
