    Careful out there Warrington peoples.

My bike has been running perfectly until this week when I've been commuting on it. Called in at Morrisons on Tuesday on my way home from work and filled it right up. Felt a bit noisy on the way home but didn't think anything of it..........

Was in the car yesterday & Wed, so pulled the bike out again this morning to go to work on.

First off it didn't really want to start, unusual cos it's usually pretty good, got it going after a few tries and it didn't seem to want to idle either. Now this isn't unusual when it's cold, but once I was off & running it sounded horrible, power was down, nothing at all under 3k revs and trying to cut out if it got lower than 2k revs.

Hmmm I thought, but it's only a short commute and I was at work now so locked it up.

Cue going home tonight, again it was a bitch to start and once fired didn't want to idle. Lack of power again, full handful of throttle only got the revs up to about 5k, no power to speak of, when it was rolling it almost felt like it was running out of fuel!

I reckoned maybe water or something in the carbs, so nursed it home and waited for Himself to get in. We then took the plug caps off to test it, finding out that it was dragging at least once cylinder on the RHS. :( He agreed with my diagnosis so we drained off both RHS carbs.

Soon as that had been done the bike started perfectly, and was quite happy to idle again. Took it for a quick spin around the block and all (touch wood) seems to be OK...........

BUT, when we drained the carbs the petrol went onto the casings, which then got warm again when I went out so of course the petrol evaporated. Let behind a nasty powdery lsudge that was almost like salt, so I dunno what was in that juice but I shan't be in any hurry to fill up there again!

Ring up the Morrisons store and let them know their fuel could be contaminated. Dont accuse them as they will get huffy

They "should" take a sample and test it to safe guard themselves
Whether they do or not is their problem. Messed up fuel can seriously damage some engines.
It cost tesco loads didnt it cos they had to fix all cars it was proved to have affected. And car engines arent cheap to work on as you would insist on main dealer sorting it. :)
