So i tried to start my CG earlier and found it wasn't working then i gave it a good look over and found a bent kick start lever...

So i pull off the lever to have a closer look and find this...

    [IMG][/IMG]
Then after some research i find this: http://www.wemoto.com/bikes/honda/cg_125_e/84/picture/kickstart_lever/
Which is clearly for the model CG125 e 84
    An mine is a CG125 BR-J 1991

Then i find this http://www.wemoto.com/bikes/honda/cg_125_br-f_j/85-91/picture/kickstart_lever/ and this matches the model and the year?

Am i wrong or has someone put the wrong part on this bike at some point.

Any feedback is appreciated as im a novice at this sort of thing.

It's probably been broken and replaced at some point, i don't see the issue though if it works?

Probably needed tightening then? I'm not a expert on the Cb but i assume it uses basically the same engine as the 84 model? Might just be a mountain out of a mole hill

ive just sat for about an hour trying to tighten it.

When i tighten it it wont stay in position because the thread on the bolt and the lever are both absolutely destroyed it wont stay where i want it too plus being a big lad im best just replacing it with something that will take my weight looks like the best option.

Plus the axel is in perfect condition is it worth risking that?

Put a longer bolt on it and add a nut to the other side.

todays top tip folks is cut a strip of metal from the side of a coke can or beer can ect just long enough to go round your kick start shaft then put kick start on and tighten:thumbsup:

Then get a bolt that fits? It's not too much of a worry mate, a honda dealer will proabably do them for pennies!

Maybe get a longer bolt and just put a nut on the end......

Didn't read the part where that was said, but if it is then he'll be able to make do with the nut and bolt solution  had to do the same on an old 125 myself. And johnny will love this.....but it was chinese!

When the kick start lever went on my old Cg I just bump started the little thing everywhere until I could be bothered paying 9 quid for a new lever. Such a little bike is a right laugh to start on the road and tiny bits of pavement :roflmao:

But what if he uses a screw, making the common mistake of assuming its a bolt?
    Hmmmm.

Why don't you just use a longer bolt and put a nut on the end?
