Felt like a change and could'nt afford a new bike so I ordered the paint online and a bit of youtube advice, so here we have it not too shabby and not perfect but different.
Cheers ,it needs a few more coats of clear but I had to throw it back together so I didnt miss this great weather were finaly getting.
I pass through somtimes on way home from wigan ( work) to prestwich . I nod at everyone loads of bikers round bolton way
If only I'd have know, got 3lt of ford focus RS Ultimate Green left over from my fiesta RS project a few years back.....ask for FORD PANTHER BLACK if you want a decent black paint to contrast it, it's a pearlescent metallic paint very deep and lots of lustre
And what are you doing with this rs green colour mr stilskin? , may come in handy with some of my projects
Nice one, iv just got hammerite black brush on paint on the frame so that needs rubbing down and ill try that ford panther black . Thats gonna be a job for when the weather changes.
What paint is it and what equipment did you use? Need to do this myself Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk 2
Thats well good, that black looks wet. Now that wasnt done with rattle cans, id love to have propper spraying gear id change the colour of my bike twice a year.
I did mine with aerosol cans 1 tin of primmer 2 tins of focus rs ultimate green and so far 1 tin of clear but this weather has interupted so I put it back together to get out on it but ill put 1 more tin of petrol proof clear , its not that hard , good luck I watched a few guys on youtube spraying petrol tanks.
120lt compressor from ALDI, a Devilbliss gun (acquired ), inverted and molested fridge to dry the air, paint from St.Helens Auto Paints (SHAP), jugs from ASDA, wet & dry from SHAP, various liquid cutting compounds, some acid etch primer, plastic dust sheets for £1 land to keep the fumes out of upstairs (didn't work at all lmao), elbow grease-blood-sweat & tears and some hard energy dance music plus tea and biscuits. Took me 7days in all doing it late at night every night. Car had been trashed by some pricks outside Cineworld so decided to change. Take your time and lay the paint even and wet with not too much air pressure and you'll be reet
ALDI and a decent gun with a 0.8 gauge nozzle for paint and 1.2 for primer. If you try this put I have a dehumidifier that I forgot to even use that you can have for a burger next time you're at the Scotch
Use 2k paint all the way. Petrol tanks are a little difficult as I found out on my old VFR, I'll send you a photo as this app says I've used my quota of uploads apparently ???
