What a selfish tool. Honest unfortunate mistakes do happen – but... he must have seen the rider well before completely blocking the rider’s path, he didn’t even try to turn to avoid a collision, then has the nerve to argue and continue. I know it’s a terrible thing to say, but he deserves to pull out like that in the path of a truck.

Hmmm maybe he was, and to be fair the van dude was at the junction first... But still the rider shouldn't have had to give way to the left. The stop was pretty decent either way haha

you get days when this happens all the time, one after the other..... cars pulling out, reversing out of driveways, pedestrians walking in the road on the fone....
the one above wouldve been a major fail if the roads were wet.

Looks like the van driver misjudged the bikes speed.
    or just didnt see him.
Pulled out as soon as the car was clear.

Just about got away with it.

Ive had a couple of those at mini roundabouts. I don't get how drivers do not see you, I really don't.
Ive had full beam on, a florescent yellow helmet and high vis on and they still do it ffs! :(

I had a van pull out on me on my way home last night. I was in the CAR at the time!
If some of these fukwits miss you in a car, how are they going to see you on a bike!!!

I don't think he was speeding, it's just the perception of the fish eye lense on the camera (e.g. look how quickly he actually stops)

Me and curt-sc125 encountered a more aggressive van driver than this all because we filtered past him. He didn't like it and tried pushing curt (who had his 12 year old brother on the back) into oncoming traffic, we both accelerated away and I gave him the finger then he caught us up at the next set of lights and got out and challenged me to a duel round on the next road. I went onto the next road and he drove in the complete opposite direction

rob i get smidsy'd in my works van all the time.
thats the trouble with low mileage commuters - theyre on autopilot and have absolutely zero spatial awareness.
this is why there are so many crashes in the morning and evening commute, but hardly any during the day.

then you have the arrogant fuckwits who refuse to give way or lose 10ft of ground on a filter / merge lane as if it makes a difference to how late they already are.

today i saw a yaris pulling a box trailer arguing with a 30 ton aggregate truck :s
the yaris was in lane 1 on the m56 and the truck was merging in front of me from the m6.
the yaris would not give way and forced the truck onto the hard shoulder.
the truck finally overtook him then swerved in front and nearly took his front end off, then the idiot in the yaris did the same! :s

bear in mind i'm behind them... if they wouldve crashed i wouldve probably been involved in it as well as a dozen other motorists, all because some tit thinks he's got 'right of way'

sorry but if it had been me in the hgv i woulve batted the cunt sideways on the merge lane and had done with it.
a bit of common courtesy for other road users would stop half these accidents.
for example its obvious, if someone is in lane 1 coming up behind a slow truck, and youre in lane 2, move over, cos theyre about to indicate to overtake.... why force them to brake?

and where you have arrows saying the road is about to go from 2 lanes to 1 in 200 yards, this is not a deadline to overtake everything in front of you!
you always get one though..... everyone else filters left and usually some arse in a bmw x8 will come roaring past expecting everyone to move over for him :/
