It'll probably have gone rusty cos you aint used it for a little while. Don't need to replace it. Just get some chain cleaner and that will remove the rust. I like to use a wire brush on mine at the same time, get's rid of all the crap.

    Then re-lube :)

I always use a diesel rag, it'll clean it up a treat, and protects it too!

Remember not to get any on the rear tyre. Also another good tip is to use chain wax rather than chain lube as this with cover the rust and look alot nicer! :D

Also, watch out with using a wire brush as this could damage the O or X rings in the chain (Obviously depending of what chain is fitted!).

    hi

everytime i get back from a ride out i always give the chain a stray as it has time to soak in over night ?

no point doing it as your going out as it will just get strayed all over the show

Soaking the chain in diesel is one of the best ways to clean a chain and it should be lubed up after a ride as it is warm and absorbs the lube.
