I've not had to adjust my chain yet (2000 miles in....),and to be honest I'll be a bit scared when I come round to doing it so I'll get an experienced mate to help...

I'm cleaning/lubing my chain every 500 miles, just with some spray cleaner and spray lube that were recommended to me in Hein Gericke....

honestly though, the sooner I need a new chain the sooner I can get a green one :shades: :shades:

It depends how often and when do you use it.

I don't ride every day any more, but spray it with Wurth dry chain lube (top stuff) every 200 miles or so.

I clean the chain every 500 miles using parafin, toothbrush and a piece of cloth. Wash it with water afterwards, dry and apply chain lube again.

Chain looks like new. Also make sure your chain has the right tension otherwise you will shorten its life span considerably!

    And your sprockets!

Depends on the weather, when its raining i do it every couple of days.

    Summer - once a week

Something to be aware of when adjusting your chain is that the marks on the swingarm aren't always accurate. It's better to use a set of calipers.

I heard there should be about 3/4" play in the chain bestween where it hangs and when it touches the swing arm. When you sit in the bike. Thats the rule that I use.

I lube clean and lube the chain everytime I wash the bike (so every week) :p

lube mine every monday morning before i set of for work ( ride 500 miles a week to work and back).. i check it every other day though just to be on the safe side.. adjustments probably about once a month on average.. ( about 2000 miles ).. last chain i had lasted well over 20000 miles though.. so must be working ok :)

do a Rochdale special and put chewing gum on your chain..

lasts about 3 rotations before you have to geta new chain..
