From what I gather, it's not illegal to sell a veh that was cat c'd and repaired without havin vic'd it. I would have thought though the garage would have a moral obligation to warn you it needed a Vic.

Without one, even if MOT'd taxed and insured, you are eventually likely to come to the notice of the cops.

Why are you applying for the V5, did you buy the car without one?

I'm on understanding without a vic the car is unroadworthy but I was sold a roadworthy car the garage didn't fix the car they took it part ex but surely by selling with log book is criminal

Carl (bloke) will be able to tell you (based on facts, not assumptions or what you read on google)
If you pm him and ask him nicely (very nicely after last time he offered advice to you) he will be able to shed some light.
Have you rung the garage btw?

Rite I know about this as I have had one before you have to get a appointment in a vosa test station for the Vic check there is one in garston but the car can be driven there as long as it's insured and a mot on it than you get the log book in the post it's not a mot station that does the check vosa only

What I'm trying to ask is should the car sales garage be liable for the cost??

vic is just an identity check by the way, nothing to do with road worthiness.

So if i get pulled by the police do they have the power to seize the car because there is a vic marker on it

Unless with it of been owned by same person for all that time they still had log book as there was no cat c on the log book like there usually is ill just pay the £41
