Hi guys, for a while now my brakes have been really really really bad in the wet. When the disk is wet theres just no response from the front brake unless you really pull on it and when you do its like the water dries off and the front then jolts and wants to lock up. Anyway of improving this? ie. new disc? etc.. I have EBC pads with pleanty left on them, or do i just live (try to) with it? Ad.
havent got a clue i just learn to live with mine but im forever locking the back wheel up but thats because i use my back brake first bloody 125 habbit that grrr!
i rarely use my back brake, just out of habbit of using the front (heavy footed) Yeah the beakes are not too bad in the dry, there just useless in the wet tho (abit like my tires) Ad.
The EBC pads probably only work properly when there warm .. hence cold wet disks = shit brakes ... I would put standard pads back on they work much better in colder weather
You using EBC GG or EBC HH? HH have better water clearing properties. Also try 'pre braking' where you dab to clear water off of the disc and then re apply the brakes, you tend to get more bite that way.
Not sure which ebc they are. Yeah i usually pre brake when its we but by the time ive done it the disk is wet again  Might change them for these new pads i have. Cheers guys Ad, P.s skinko'd FTL
i have started using my front brake like im in a car in the wet by pumping it it seems to work better on mine dunno if that helps
On modern bikes they have ABS... basicly thats what your doing by pumping the brake. Who needs fancy electrics eh?
well you cant pump it as fast as ABS pumps it lol ever heard a car breaking when ABS kicks in, feels and sounds like the car is gonna vibrate to pieces lmao
Lol its the basic principle i meant. Remeber doing the emergency stop while doing driving lessons. Though my foot was having a spaz attack.
lol lol i didnt have a car that had ABS for driving lessons, was hoping i didnt get an emergency stop! thanks god i didnt too!
