Need to do my brakes but i dont get paid til this fri. They are working for now tho, however the front brake keeps sticking on. It started this at the back end of last week but if i come to a complete stop it would unlock.

Anyway, didnt use the bike for two days and then the sticking was worse, it would even stay stuck if i came to a complete stop. Then when riding it yesterday, the brake came on by itself! Done it again this morning! Fuckin annoyin! What could be sticking - could it be the cylinders, or could the actual pads be sticking to the disc if the disc is ridged?

I'll sort it at weekend but obviously if there is sommat i can do to help that would be good. After riding it to work this morn though, its got a little better so it seems the more i use it the better

I'd make sure everything is clean. There's been a lot of salt lately on the roads so I'd expect your brakes to disgusting.

You mention they seem to be sticking. Are they sticking on certain points? Either raise the front wheel and spin it or push the bike forward slowly. Does it feel like it's sticking at points? If so, you might have a warped disc.

Let us know how you get on.

dont think the disc is warped, it only does it when i use the brakes. When its not stuck on, the wheel spins freely

Just got me worried when it came on by itself - its only done that twice but i cant understand how it can do that, and when i does, they proper come on!

Ive not even looked at them yet, im sure it will be fixed when i put new ones on this weekend

for the brake to be binding it sounds like the pistons in your brake caliper are gunked up and sticking, could be rust on the pistons? if i was you i would push the pistons out and fit new seals maybe replace pistons if neccesary
but i maybe wrong try a new caliper if hard to source parts or maybe cheaper to buy a second hand caliper off ebay or somethin
