That makes sense for me, but I wouldn't be surprised if there was some chaos in people finding the place and staying together, especially if it's a few groups, and especially if they approach Preston from any route but the A59. I get mixed up finding the Docks sometimes, and I live and work in Preston. The idea of the route I suggested was to meet where there is the least likelihood of people failing to find it, then taking some of the more interesting roads through Fylde whilst there's still daylight. The Warton route is just more of the A59 for the most part, and not especially interesting. It's up to you guys - I'm happy to go with whatever. Alternatively, if we want to land up at the South end of the illuminations come dark, we could do something like this . If we find a chippy in St. Annes (maybe the one in the Square? Unless you have a better one in mind?) we'll be in the right place when it comes to dusk at 7:45-8ish.
If i have got time i will be picking up the A6 into preston, or M61 if i am pushed for time. Will be heading out of Leigh around 5.30 ish (depending what time i get home from work) if anybody is passing my way and wants ride up the A6.
Joe, me dave, bass, gazza are going from st helens way down the 59, were going down the rainford bypass through lathem into burscough down the 59 if you wanna meet pre trout?
