    Hi there [nod]
I did a oil change and took my bike apart abit for spring cleaning but i've messed something up..

#it sounds ok idle but will cut out eventually
    #accelerates really slow.
#wants to stall when taking of from 0.
#If I hold it at 30mph it jumps forward splutter kind of thing.
#When I hold revs at 30 while it's on stand it either jumps to high revs or slowly decelerates.

TBH I rode it down the road without a spark plug cover on properly but once I put it on it still did it, perhaps it's something to do with this?

Hope someone can save me alot of hassle and probably money.
    Cheers, Paul

plugs fouled or a bit of sh*t in the carbs i reckon.
if theyre iridium plugs dont bother cleaning them, just get new ones.

It was fine before i changed oil and filter and took things apart for cleaning so hoping it's just a lose wire or something silly.

did you run it wit the plug cap off after you checked them or before?
    it's a twin cylinder isn't it?
if one plug is fouled that could be the problem

a common fault on the gsx 1400 is the clutch sensor swicth or the side stand switch.they both give the problems you say your having.,try the clutch 1st...the main problem

if you had the tank off check the fuel lines aren't trapped or kinked

If you only just serviced it, as stated just check everything over that you have disturbed before you start throwing money at it mate. Could be something simple like a kinked fuel pipe or one of the vaccum hoses has come off.
    :)

Seems I'll have to clean carbs out this week. Not looking forward to this I must say.

The shop put in a new power coil because apparently 1 cylinder wasn't working fully which was the fault. I also got the carbs cleaned and all the fuel lines checked or replaced.
But now it's fine around town but sluggish after 60-70mph. It won't even accelerate much past 80 but it used to go up to 100 in no time and it backfires/putters abit.

Anyone have any more suggestions please?

    Cheers

did you have a look at the plugs???
could be badly fouled if its not been firing properly on one, it will be carbonned up to fk.
also if they are iridium ones dont bother cleaning them, just replace them, you will do more harm than good trying to clean them

Yeah I was really careful of all the leads :( I'm sure all the carb/air box leads are right.
I've put it up for sale now mentioning this problem.
