couple of years back we started a product review actually , taking pics and giving your own personal opinion of it as being used by a general member of the public....the problem you get when you read a professional journalist review is that he is either paid by the owners , and is given the product free, this means he aint going to slag it off is he ?

i will try and find the thread , on it was best ruck sack , best leathers , helmets etc ,,,, all positive and negative reviews are a godsend ,just like yours on the optimate ..well done

    both!
i think the optimiser term is actually just saying it maintains the battery.
mine was advertised as an optimate battery charger and optimiser when i bought it.
its the same as this i think http://www.webbikeworld.com/r3/motorcycle-battery-charger/optimate-3/
    served me well.

its deffo not the oxford one.

Don't put yourself down 'only experienced 11hp' - some of the best fun I've had was on my 125 scooter, and I bought that after I'd already had a blade!

If you learn to ride that smoothly rather than just relying on power you'll be a better rider for it and appreciate the power when it's available

And while they are looking for a little Japanese guy with a cracking sense of humour I'll just wait here for a chance of another shocking joke on someone else's thread mwha ha ha ha

I thought I'd give my two cents on this. I got an Oxford Optimate 900 today as part of a gift for subscribing to a Magazine. It charged brilliantly for twenty minutes, then a fuse blew, and when I replaced it the unit went 'BANG' and after having a look inside the unit, it seems a resistor used for current protection has blown (They shouldn't be used for that, and should have proper protection) I was really unhappy with the built quality of the unit on the outside, it feels cheap and if knocked off the side in the garage or something would probably smash into hundreeds of pieces.

The alligator cables feel cheap, and the wire is really thin.

I've sent the company a message, hopefully they'll replace it and I'll have a better experience with the second one, if not they can have their charger back and I'll stick to the older Halfords one i've been using up to now.
