As some of you were witness to I had my offside mirror killed in action on Sunday filtering in Liverpool :geek: (I didn't hit anyone, just snapped it trying to fold it in)

While I'm waiting for a new one to arrive I picked up one of those little bar-end jobbies at J&S just to get me by. I'm actually really impressed how much you can see with this thing I'm tempted to leave it on permanently. It's curved so looks like your looking through a wide angle lens, I could even just see the lane to my left, right across to where I'd do a lifesaver! Obviously the downside to getting so much in is everything looks tiny. Might be a good alternative to those riderscans I've seen people with

My very unscientific its about kinda like this MS Paint diagram:

Photo to give you an idea, for some reason the camera doesn't capture the wide angle very well

i think they look ugly ! however if its doing its job ???? it will be a convexed lens ? this will make the objects smaller and seem far away ? that can lead to confusion slightly ..you see the approaching car in the mirror .."ahhh..h is a long way behind," then you pull out and he is right behind you ! does that sound about right ?

Correct, its a convex lens. You might get used to the deceptive distance, but its not a permanent replacement for proper mirror IMHO.

Had one on my SV for a while. Did the job. I just do loads of lifesavers these days.

Hits the faring when the throttle is pinned if you do it any other way.

...I mean, uhh, when I checked the throttle for clear and free movement with the bike switched off.

When would you ever have the throttle pinned on full lock?

It's the cable, not the grip itself buddy
