    i think the standard size is 160.60.17 but you might have more luck finding a 55.

    what's the front like? and how old is it?
    you can tell the age by looking at the DOT numbers on the sidewall;
    ie DOT BA V3 ARO 2603 would be week 26, 2003 (and too old lol)
    the compound will harden over time and wont grip as good as it should.

    you may find its cheaper to get a pair deal than just the rear, unless someone has one knocking about...

    Sameish as what Martin said.....i personally would not mix and match tyres, i get a pair for mine for £160 but recently had to buy just a rear....cost £110.....So i would go for the pair anyway.

    Also, it depends what you want from a tyre, if you commute you can get tyres with a harder center for motorway mileage....i personally don't care how long my tyres last.

    You will get as many different opinions on tyres as there are stars in the sky....It's a personal thing. Even for the same bike, one person will praise Michelin's whilst another owner will only use Pirelli.

    I'm not helping am i.....Are you on a bandit forum ? might get more positive advice on there.

    That place in Farnworth is doin a good price on a particular pair of tyres at the moment, mate of mine got some on his bandit not long back. I forget what manufacturer but he's had no probs with them. I'll ask him.
    I'll be going there too soon as mine are almost due for changing

    Iirc the std fitment is 110/70/17 front and a 150/70/17 rear. but you would be fine with a more popular 120/60/17 + 160/60/17 set up. You can get race scrubs on ebay as the mini twin race series use same size tyres. im looking for some for the cbr as they are same size.

    I got Avon Vypers on atm, and the rear has worn through in the middle quite badly as it's motorway miles I do =/ I'll have to see what I can get. Hopefully harder compound in the middle :)

    I have a pair of maxxis sport tyres and they are not that bad, a lot of marshalls are using them now.
    not an all out/balls out tyre but there again havent got a road rocket.
    Average price is about £145 the pair but can get them cheaper.

    He's asking 95 quid for a brand new one, and 10 quid to fit and balance :) hard compound in the centre. What you guys reckon?

    It's only for commuting and not a clue. He just said it's a hard compound lol. I'll find out!
