Trackday at anglesey coastal circuit 17th July
Well it was absolutely lashing it down bigtime..but cleared up for the final 2 sessions.
Event was run by focused events and i have to say i was very unimpressed..
for a start any rider who had not ridden anglesey before..they put into the novice group
so there was a full novice group, including about 8 yellow bibbed never done a trackday before guys.
some of the guys in the novice were on full racebikes with wets and obviously had it dialled in after a few laps
but they kept them in the same groups all day,NO instructors on the track all day keeping an eye.
seemed to me a lot of 'jonny big potatos' were loving lapping the slower guys-well we all love to overtake and exude superiority
but how are new track guys meant to progress ?
i was doing about 130 coming up the hill and thought i was really doing well and then 2 knobs drop in on me right on the apex.CNUTS!
NOBODY knew where the nearest petrol was and couldnt give a shit basically.
14 offs i think in total, the biggest pain being when you think your doing well 2 v v fast guys knee down on your inside line
and obvioulsy too fast for novice group,it put one guy off and he couldnt cope and fucked off home.
Also no checking wristbands,i know for a fact guys were riding inters and then getting into novice once it had started.
Anyway, nuff said..hope oulton and hottrax is better !

    A few pics

its hard to relax on a wet track you have so many arse clench moments, i think you will prefer oulton mate, much better track hottrax is a good event organiser and do check wrist bands! on the last session of the day at oulton they did let the inters out with the novice but meh be reet, i dont think its good that they made the new people to the track go in inters its entirely up to the rider what class they go in and if there slow/fast they should be moved

thats put me off ever having a trackday with Focused events, thats really poor!

When we were at oulton, there was NOTHING lacking from the Hottrax guys, they had it all nailed (probably due to countless experience)

Good pics, one of those looks like your about to ride and drop into the sea :D

On a side note, how was the circuit?

circuit was pretty awesome, managed the last session dry !
the corkscrew section is really technical and the section as you have just pulled a tight right hander really does
make you go ...ahh the sea how beautif.....oh shit a corner..!
the 'straight' is curved and when the wind blows pretty scary but you can wind through 2-4th and just kill the revs
    for a 2nd gear left..
would go again but not with focused ever again

Cool, i've heard good things about the track! I'm considering a trackday there sometime!

I don't agree with the way focused did that event, there would be far too many people in novice groups. I would rather pay an extra 10-15 quid for a hottrax event and know its all done properly.

I just hope we get a dry day on the 28th, that would be fucking awesome! Oulton park is pretty technical and the small chicane is an ass opener if you exit with too much throttle lol :D

focus are regarded as the worst ones, and if possible are best avoided

    yeah that is pretty shocking

    send an email to complain
may be worth sending one to Anglesey as well, they will have a central e-mail / website

Last thing you want on your first track day is some tosser cutting you up
That is when you need an old shitter of a bike just to take the tosser out. :)

Did mine with nolimits and they were good, and very well organised
