Anyone know anywhere for around £500 I don't want to spend to much as I'll be spending some on the brakes tyres suspension etc

What track will you be using this bike on? Why get an older grey import 400 cc and battle for spares when you can get a newer 600 cc? Plenty of choice and limitless supply of spares for Honda CBR 600
you can pick up an old gpz500 or cb500 for about your budget too. both similar size and power to the 400's. I think would be awesome on the smaller tracks. I (may be wrong but) think the cb500 used to have its own race series so must be doing something right. brakes and suspension are supposedly the downfall on both but if thats where your gonna be splashing the cash then it should be sound. parts will be easier to find also. as they're all over auto trader and ebay whereas 400's aren't as common.
have to agree there the 500 may be a better choice also considering your height a 400 maybe a bit on the small side Sent from my GT-I9305 using Tapatalk 2

Do lots of research Kev, you would be better spending a tad more cash for a better bike that's already half sorted. Lots of track bikes become available now due to end of race season , you going to race or trackday it ? Just bear in mind to race .....you need to have an acu licence, be a race club member, pay entry fees, fuel , tyres, transport to meet, spares, leathers , helmet, etc etc. not cheap mate
Race Dave already filled in acu forms waiting to send them off. Will cost but its something that really appeals to me
A lad I work with helps run the Wirral and he spent close to 10k last season. That's without the cost of the bike.... Think carefully. And as a place to start the cb500 is without a doubt the best way to enter racing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Call in to see my friend Gary on kingfisher court, (on the three sisters industrial estate) Is the go to man for 400's and may have something you could use. Specialist in all 400's and has many parts and contacts for parts you can't get. I'll PM you his number. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
you can do it on a budget, with 8 race days and about 5 trackdays, inlcuding tyres has come to about 2.5grand.
Don't be put off by anyone, live your dream, you only get one shot at it, (ps) forget aintree and oulton Initially. Both are Power circuits so if on a Budget not a good idea, just demoralise you. Preston clubs 3 sisters, very friendly, riders circuit etc. Think you need to up your bike budget to over £1000 at the very least. look at trackbikes on ebay motors, some reasonable CBR6 there, dont rush anything , its a buyers market at the minute. Good Luck. Oh cbr's will have more bits than anything else on the market. Talk to Ninja Sean about crash damage!
i was offered a early NC30 painted in all black without any tax and MOT which is a nice runner and may need fork seals for £800 collect from nottingham if you want his details. Price is none negotiable and quite frankly for a running complete NC30 even if a bit dog eared paint wise is - well bloody cheap frankly.
Kev you have just seen the pic of the NC30 Gordon just bought for £900 yes high milage but i'm well pissed of it's just what i wanted.. this is the time to snap them up..
