Theres chains on ebay for 20 quid there gold heavy duty chains but not D.I.D ones stay away from them or ??
i can have a scout at mine. sure one of the dogs will have left me a pressie somewhere. if i dry it out and spray it gold you can have it for a tenner? its still a gold coloured piece of shit, but at an even better price............
Cheers lee ive learnt thing that are cheap are cheap for a reason not even sure if mine needs replaceing its slack and has got a touch of rust on it
DID are the market leaders, you do get what you pay for ...if that chain snaps while your riding, the cash you save from not buying the DID will cost you around 100 times more in damage to the bike
I have a gold did x link. Nearly 2 never been cleaned properly and never been tightened I am know sticking it on the bike I have left. My chain snapped on my old bike on mway cost £120 recovery alone.
Id go for a did or tsubaki (spl?) try arracing, ive used em for chains and sprockets, reasonble prices and quick delivery
FFS tension the chain and clean and lubricate it. It will be fine. A touch of rust won't cause it to break. If it's heavily rusted on the rollers and you have tight links then it's worth changing. If all the rollers roll are a good fit (don't move up and down excessively) and links are free moving then it will be OK.
I got a JT chain from ebay for my nc30 Its not gold or fancy looking but is decent quality and not too cheap or too pricey.
Take it off and hang it on the wall. It's not worth the risk. Chain failers have been known to take peoples left foot off on most bikes or right foot on some odd bikes (bmw ) Or it could lock the rear wheel which will not be nice at 70mph.
Its not a cheapo copy. Its a JT chain from the same people who do the sprockets. Its just not a gold one lol http://www.jtsprockets.com/catalogue/model/340
D.i.D for my bikes. Just looked on eBay at jt chains and I pay more than that for my mountain bike chains.
