I'd like to meet some new peeps to go out riding with
Anyone fancy a ride out in April or May
    Weekends or during week
Not into local rides, prefer full day ride outs etc
    I live in Bury

There should be plenty to choose from by then, keep your eye out for Cab's mile muncher rides, usually a full day somewhere and always cracking routes.

Yep, hope to be out this weekend for a day and then fortnightly, unless I decide to swan off for a camping weekend with the Moto Guzzi club.

Speed isn't an issue Ginger, if people are out for a progressive ride they will usually say so when posting the thread, there are plenty of L friendly rides posted that are done at a pace to suit them, and if people do go haring off into the distance they will always wait for others to catch up at the next turn off.

I am in favour of the more cautious or novice riders or just newbies to a group, riding near the front of the group to assist the leader set the pace. Those that can vary the pace or are regular riders with the leader, more rearwards. As the group fragments due to traffic, those at the back will still find opportunities to make some progress whilst catching up.

I have a couple of smaller bikes i am either running in - or just getting some use of.
north wales and surrounding will be the ride area of choice for me.
so if you are happy to sit with or at the speed of a 250 2 stroke or slower, then happy days.
a word of warning though, i only use castrol fully synth, and after being behind for a while it can become a bit overwhelming and take you right back to the 70's and GP racing.

i'm not going to go into my riding style :cough: but no ones ever to slow, the most important factor you should be doing is riding at your own pace you feel comfortable with, there is always someone marking a turn. unless of course theres a roundabout at which point the idiot going round it umpteen times gets everyone confussed and off in diff directions

No but I remember one last year where I marked a roundabout and the third rider went the wrong way. I ran after (id parked up) to wave at him and another two or three saw me and went in the direction I was running.......nooby error ha ha!

yeah i wasnt on a whitby one. only ever met you the once around the lakes. it was the time your brake resevoir snapped off and we had to cable-tie it back on and fatbobs sump plug sprung a leak outside a train station during an ice cream stop.
