PLEASE READ - Trolling (here or elsewhere)

Ok boys and girls, gather round and listen.

We recently had a big falling out which resulted in some members leaving the forum. Right or wrong, blameless or guilty, I don't care. Those members left of their own volition and as a result peace has (sort of) descended again.

Now I know some of you may feel particularly aggrieved, irritated or just downright angry with some of those people. That's fine. That's your right.

(here comes the but....)

BUT.....

If people have been sensible enough to leave the forum PLEASE DO NOT PURSUE THEM. I'm sure I don't need to remind you all that harassment is a criminal activity, but notwithstanding that, if people go to another forum that those ex-members have joined specifically to abuse and taunt them, that then draws those people back here and yet again we have an utter pigf**k of a mess to clean up, with insults, abuse, threats, threadcrapping, etc. etc.

If you have a problem with someone then please deal with it OFF the forums. That includes both NWB and any other forums they're a member of. Use PMs. Use text messages, emails, Facebook. Hell maybe even pick the phone up and call them or arrange to meet them to discuss your grievances. I don't care. But please PLEASE don't use OUR forum, or anyone else's forum, as a platform from which you pursue your own vindictive agenda.

NWB has long had upheld its founding principle that we do not moderate people for what they do off the forum. You can snort washing power up your butt crack with rolled up fifty pound notes and go round with a dildo strapped to your face for all I care. Just don't cause aggro on the forum and we won't moderate you. Recent events have caused a rethink and a clarification of that principle - if your actions OFF the forum cause problems ON the forum then you should expect that you will be sanctioned on here. That may just mean an admin or mod having a quiet word and telling you to stop being a dick, or it may mean a permanent lifelong ban. Think of NWB as your home. If you want to go picking a fight with someone you need to think about whether that trouble will follow you home and affect everyone else in your family.

On a personal note, trust me when I say life is a lot better when you learn to let people exit your life if you don't like them. Pursuing them and smothering yourself in them as you claw away deeper and deeper at them does nothing for you other than poisoning your own life as well as making theirs a misery.

I've been in discussion with the moderation/admin function on the "other" forum that those people have gone to and I've asked that if there is ANY repetition of the kind of abuse that has just happened then they notify the police and let the authorities deal with it. Pursuing someone to a new forum and abusing them there constitutes harassment, and those involved can expect to be dealt with appropriately.

To the peace-loving NWB members who aren't involved in any of this, I apologise for the fuss and ask that if you see any kind of baiting or abuse on the forum then PLEASE DON'T GET INVOLVED. Just click the REPORT button and let us know. The best way to stop trolls is to never start feeding them in the first place.
