We are looking at four days riding from start to finish, meaning the clock starts ticking from when we set off. But those who are doing this event have accepted that five days is more realistic. Beside. To go all the way up there for the first time in my life and others, I would like to take breaks and take photo's and digest the scenery that is on offer.
Hi Griffo. Have you already got a c90? If you would like to come along I don't see why not. The problem I do have is organising transport for all these machines. I have opened a Face book page just yesterday and will be adding the rest of the names today. Its called jays c90 coast to coast ride. Pop on there and say hi? I can add you and we can plan to organise transport. Please be aware we are camping. And you will need to chip in for fuel on the towing vehicle. The vehicles will be shadowing us with our kit and tools/ spares etc.
I quite fancy this, either buy a scooter I've got my eye on, a 'special' italian (flag sticker'd) Suzuki pizza delivery bike from the 80's haha. If not I've got the Bantam still. Could an old 60's 2smoke make it do you rekon?
Looks a hoot. Id be a bit more realistic with the time though. 230 - 250 miles a day every day is a decent ask on a normal bike. On a c90 your looking at nearly 8 hrs solid riding. Plus fuel stops, food, rest breaks etc. The problem is you chase miles rather than enjoying it. Id personally give myself 6 or 7 days and just see how you go. Plus a day to get to jog and a day back from lands end. Best of luck any way.
Lee is spot on ..until you have done some big miles in a day you dont realise how tiring it can get ,,,esp after doing these on consecutive days… even Liverpool to J O G s is a fair way to travel in a van ….these are once in a life time things, to enjoy it properly you need to space it out and take it in abit more rather than race the clock
Hi,I will be watching this ride and if it fits in with my time off work I am up for it.I have got 3 c90s and love them to bits.A few months ago I rode one two up with my son and all the camping gear to Matlock going over the cat and fiddle,to meet up with the c90 owners club, just doing that was hard work but more fun than my gs so this trip sounds good.
I have a meet already organised on the c90 forum for buxton. I will be heading out on the 90 and see how long it takes to get to buxton from me, it is 87 miles? Double that will give an indication of how long 200 miles will take.
