As the title states, my nephew is after a Japanese 125 commuter Honda CG 125, Yamaha YBR 125 or similar.

If anyone knows of one going cheap (it's his first bike so he will trash it), please let me know.

    Thanks in advance
    Paul :)

How cheap are you talking? Mine is up for sale right now

    I'm currently looking for £1400 on a 12 plate YBR125 with 9k miles.

I was looking up to a maximum of £1,000.
My nephew is fresh from the bush and will have ZERO road sense...the bike will get trashed and crashed, subsequently we're not looking to spend too much on his first bike.

Fair enough, didn't hurt to check :)

I'd guess that any YBR or CG prior to about '08 should be attainable for that price. Up to '10 if lucky.
Or you find a Cat C/D that's back on the road?

I hope he has been licked clean?

In relation to Captf's at £1400 , there must be room for negotiation ? Imagine the smile on your Nephews face with a bike like that …he would be the envy of his mates and you would be an absolute Idol for ever and ever and ever…amen!

should be easy to pick up a ybr for under a grand. i picked up a 2009 yrb in 2010 for £1200 from marriotts, so should be easy as pie from a private seller. managed to get mine with pants, jacket and a cbt thrown in. was pretty much mint with only mark on it was a small scratch on the exhaust cover till i got my hands on it haha.

Unfortunately, at this point the price isn't really up for much wiggle room.
Of course, if I still have it in a few weeks, it may go down a bit more [but definitely not to a sub £1k level :p ]

I would say that if he is the type to use and abuse he may be better off going down the car route or getting the bus ! The bike won't be the only thing to get thrashed and crashed !
