So I bought this a few months back as a present to my best mate who has the same mental age and state as myself (about 16 and backwards) anywho, long story short he can't take his test this year so it's mine to play with and took her apart to clean and got to thinking.....

    Cafe Racer :D

So as it's starts..... [IMG] A 'non runner' put petrol in the carb and charged the fuel lines... Kicked over second go after 38years :) result

With only 1500miles on the clock the plan was to restore but in red as chosen by said friend as all the parts were near perfect besides missing silencers.

But now it's mine I stripped her down to nothing, new gaskets, oil, filters, piston and con rod, cam chain & tensioner, points and condenser, plugs and leads, chain & sprocket, cables and battery.

Not all put back together as she's in for some surgery ;)

As she stands ATM.... [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]
Just started on the tanks new paint today, only first coat but you get the picture, nice Honda Milano red.

Next job: flat back and carry on. Then fit the Aprilia RS125 USD forks, then mod the lowers to carry original hub brakes, then fit adjustable rear sets if eBay coughs a decent set up cheap enough.

Then fit flared upswept link pipes and wrap (no silencers)

    Fit nitrogen charged rear shockers.

Make a seat pan and leather seat.

Add clip on I have left over from the NC24 a few years ago, sort the hidden wiring loom out.
Wrinkle coat some engine casings in black and red (left over from my RVF)
    MOT & tax her :)

Should look very similar to the bike below..... [IMG]
Then to make a start on Oliver's old KE125 2-smoker project (200cc 4 stroke conversion if I can't find an OEM top end)

    Thoughts???

Had to shuffle the garage around before so the tanks now on inc re-furbished fuel tap.
Tonight/afternoon- chain will go on, rear wheel to be tightened and aligned. Carb can go back on with new cone filter.
Possibly make a start on shaping the seat base? Who knows.

Right so Sourcing an old petrol tank to match mine has been nigh on impossible especially as I want a rusty one to chop up and turn into the rear cub of the cafe racer style seat (to match the original tank lines)
Anywho- any of you know any decent seat builders in the northwest?

Going at it with sheet metal and a stretching machine soon if not, can't be that difficult can it
