    Help again guys.
Seen a lot of ppl putting after market digital gear indicators on there bikes and quote fancy the idea of putting one on mine. But am not too familiar with fitting these things. Are they hard for an amateur to fit. Wireing looks very complicated to me.
    What do you think

The ones iv seen are just a magnet on the gear lever that passes a pickup, which is connected to the display. Getting power to the display is easy, just connect it to the battery, or find a wire that only live when the ignition is one.

Also, if you connected it straight to the battery, the display would be constantly on, unless you had a switch.

wiring's dead easy, loads of tutorials online, just follow the instructions n you cant go far wrong. wiring in a switch to it would be easier in my opinion, because the instructions for the gear indicator would tell you which is live, but if you find a wire that's only live when ignition is on, then you could use that same wire for other stuff aswell.

There's one on the market that is plug ang play ! You just pop it into a certain socket and it's alive when you turn the machine on , dead when it's not .... GIPRO .

On more modern bikes ( with electronic speedos that read from a front sprocket / gearbox output speed) these are definitely easier to fit - they normally just plug into the bikes diagnostic port on the loom and that's it ! Worth fitting ....

You have a rev counter and ears, why do you need a gear indicator?

My bike is a bit biz in that the gearing is a bit low as standard - when you hit 60-70 you're looking for another gear - it's nice and handy tho and comes with the benefit of being a bit 'bling' - they should be standard on all bikes I think ...
