This is probably just a very easy fix but was just wondering what it actually is, I haven't got much time to be messing about these days so knowing what I'm doing would be helpful. Thanks for any feedback
looks like a dodgy gasket to me. http://www.cmsnl.com/honda-cg125-1995-england_model2608/partslist/E__0100.html#results part number 3 on this link, but i aint looked if its available any cheaper or in the uk.... and wait for a response from somebody more knowledgeable than me haha.
As I recall, the CG is a push rod engine, so no problems with cam timing or any of that melarky. Fuel off Tank off Loosen the carb' rubber and slide the carb ou. Exhaust off (use coppius amounts of plus gas and gently on the retaining flange bolts). Unbolt the head and remove. Clean and gasket faces on the head and barrel. New gasket. New exhaust gasket. Re-assemble as above in reverse using correct torque settings. Run gently for a tank of fuel and then re-torque. Check valve clearances. Done
Ahh sound Haynes should get me through that then I'll have to get my head around points soon haha no doubt that will be next
Thanks for the offer bud, ill keep that in mind, is it strange that id like to try it myself, I'm looking to pass my A2 soon anyway so the more i learn now the better i think
No Mate its good to see people trying I only offer as I no jobs like this can be quiet daunting to someone that hasn't done it before, if you need owt let me know.
Ktm. Lol. Tbh id rather do the cbr. Its a right pain on the ktm to do the plugs. Access is so tight due to the frame design. You need a very skinny 3/8 drive plug socket and an array of extensions or you cant get in the top of the heads. And the tank is notoriously difficult to get back on due to the plastic growing slightly over the years.
Thank you i will give you a shout if i need anything, If i ever need something doing ill stick round and learn i prefer it that way
Great on the Guzzi. Loads of space unlike many. No crouching as the pots on a Guzzi are proudly pert like a young girls breast, unlike BMW's sloppy saggy spaniels ears. V-Twins are great, but when orientated correctly in the frame, they're brilliant!
Makes em easier to rebuild when they shit their guts I guess? Also you know some oddly built women? Ill stick to my reliable austrian.
