Just wondering, with it being a road bike only trackday and 'riding to and from the track is advised'... If it nails it down, no one will have wets to put on... What happens then?
Road tyres are designed to be used in all conditions so should be ok to use in the wet, you just dont push too hard
haha nobody there will be using wets mate its for novices only, if it rains you go out with what you have on and make use of your smooth throttle action or face the horrifying consequences
If youve got something like a Pilot Road 3 on you pretty much have a track wet tyre already, albeit a harder compound... Yeh its not great if youve fitted something like a supercorsa which only really have grooves for show rather than effectively shifting water... I quite enjoy riding round there in the wet to be honest... it shows the inadequacies int he guys who turn up on a litre bike who point and squirt, relying on the power of the bike... I remember being chased down by a little cb500, being ridden by a really smooth rider, who could carry an unbelieveable amount of corner speed, riding around everyone....
Std road tyres in this type of environment are great , the track dries quicker than the road , a dry line appears , then off you go again
Club membership form in the post, once i get my member number i can send off for my ACU license and i'm good to go ! stoked for this!
these days usually sell out fast ..i think someone said Oulton was full so had to book in at cad well for the August one ...
Lol crappy phone. Yea should be a great day. People will have to keep an eye out for me cause I can never remember who I've met! I'm not hard to spot as both my leathers and my bike has Fronkey written down them.
young Josh is on this, as well as 'young' @stevieb haha gonna be a class day I'm sure! Had 3 sessions on their in the wet last week just to give me a bit of time on track so I can leave Stephen at the first corner hahah
Will come.and find you. A bit of shade could be a good thing. I am riding down from Preston aiming to be there at 7.30. Cheers Steve
Im coming down from Preston too, but I know I'll end up being late…. !!! So I'm not going to commit to riding down with ya… Will stop at the Sandiway Shell Station for a top of fuel… They do sell during the day but its not that cheap.
